The Manuelita's story began nearly a decade ago when Federico and Angelica Montes decided to bring an authentic taste of Mexico to Leadville, and began building their business from the ground up. This pair has worked - often without any additional help - as the cashiers, cooks, wait staff, bookkeepers, and virtually every other position you can think of at Manuelita's, being there from open to close, seven days a week. They have poured their hearts into this restaurant, and it shows.
If you've visited Manuelita's, you've probably gotten to meet Freddy and Bryana, Federico and Angelica's children, who have grown up at the business, and always bring a smile to its patrons. The Montes family has become a well-known part of the Lake County community, and although they rarely get a break from the toils of running their restaurant, they are always courteous and kind to anyone who passes through their doors.
